Cheap to Deploy

This is a major plus for SVG. In the past, every one of your computers involved with any item of graphics software had to be specially configured with additional software, to enable them show the graphics on screen and to print it. For a big corporate, that could mean having to reconfigure thousands of desktop PCs. Those kinds of corporate software decisions were biased by big costs in the cost-benefit analysis.

SVG has blown all that away. Because all it needs is a web browser, there's nothing to reconfigure at the desktop!

Thus you can deploy SVG graphics with almost zero IT intervention/cost.

It minimises maintenance costs too. Your Apps run on web servers, so to modify software, you just modify a Server App. Software maintenance is restricted to your web servers. Where it should be.

The Adobe viewer, which comes free with Internet Explorer nowadays, is free: all you have to do to view SVG in IE v6 is to click on the "I agree" checkbox for the Adobe licence - once! How easy and cheap is that!
